PUCK (PUTZIG)

As Hanna Domańska writes in her book, Kamienne drzewo płaczu. Gminy żydowskie województwa gdańskiego, ich dzieje i zabytki (Weeping Tree of Stone. Jewish Communities in Gdańsk Voivodeship, their History and Monuments), the Jewish cemetery in Puch (German: Putzig) was founded in 1819 at the back of Rybacka street - at present Lipowa street. It is known that before the Second World War the territory of the necropolis was walled. As a result of damages, no gravestones survived till the present day. The place of cemetery has been commemorated by lapidarium of arranged boulders.
